A Question

Man, the intarweb can be so cool. There's all sorts of new people to meet, pictures of cats to look at and porn to download.

But at other times it totally blows. One of these aformentioned blowing areas regards conflicting information. Could someone please give me a straight answer to the following question:

What is the "first day" of your cycle? Is it the first day of spotting or the first day of "real" bleeding?

I haven't managed to find a consensus on the subject, but as some of you are probably a lot more keenly aware of cycle related stuff, I was hoping that someone out there knows the truth.

First day of real bleeding -- bright red blood flow.

That's the only thing I've ever heard from any of my doctors.

I agree with Molly for once. I asked this question myself after some IUI or something, and many lovely ladies came to my aid to set me straight. Full on, real bleeding, none of that spotting stuff.

My clinic counts day 1 as the first day of 'full flow' before midday. If it comes much later than that then the next day is day 1.......

After month of my old doc saying first day of full flow -my new doc -fertility specalist, says count spotting as CD-1. I am not sure why -it seems unconventional.

Thanks for all the advice ladies! Strange that doctors have all told us different things. I suppose I should talk to my specialist to see what he reckons...
